So Mike & I splurged on our Busch Gardens Fun Passes earlier this year but the sweltering heat of summers have kept us away. As much as we enjoy BG, Maddy & Mikayla are still too little for the water rides and as for the rest of the park is just too darned hot! Our only salvation is shade, misting fans, splash pads & lots of cold beverages! A couple weekends ago Mike talked me into going, it was hot but we all had fun.
Food in BG can get expensive, we always like to eat BEFORE getting into the park. Right around the corner is Mel's Hot Dogs. Real Vienna Chicago Style hot dogs on poppy seed buns? Yes PLEASE!
Old habits die hard, we always start off on the far side of the park the 'Edge of Africa'. This lion was conscious for about 30 seconds until he passed out again.
The lemurs had just been fed, so they were hanging out by the glass. Maddy & Mikayla had fun saying hi to King Julien & Mort - two lemurs from the movie Madagascar. I like to move it, move it!!

And Cookie Monster!! Good Lord, I feel sorry for the employees that wear these costumes during the summer months. We also met Big Bird & Elmo but there's no personal photography allowed. Booo!
So we rode Grover's little roller coaster and met some characters, the girls were on the splash pad long enough for me to take a picture when the whistle blew. Dark clouds rolled in, the thunder was getting closer, so the girls and every other kid had to get out of the water. At least when it started drizzling, it cooled everybody down. We were only at the park for 5 hours but we were tired so we hit the road for home. Again, this is the beauty about our FunPasses, we can go whenever we want for as long as we want. Our passes include free parking so the only money we spent was on beer, our souvenir soda cup refills & dippin' dots! I bring my cooley bag full of waters too, on a hot day we all have to stay hydrated. Since we only had time to see & do our favorite rides & attractions I expect we'll be heading back to BG very soon especially since the weather has finally started cooling off! Fall is coming to Florida!

Wow,Cam will love this! We're planning on getting an annual pass for winter; just couldn't bear going there in the heat. It'll be great to meet up with you guys there.
Definitely Allison & Mike! We would love to meet you at BG! Our passes expire at the end of the year but we're renewing for sure! Cam will love it!
