Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is a day that was always special for Mike & I, now it's even more special because of Maddy & Mikayla!  Mike & I like to make every holiday, even the little holidays memorable for our girls.  Balloons and treat bags have become a Valentine's tradition, something that I started when Maddy was a toddler and continued with Mikayla.  It warms my heart to see the girls faces when they get up Valentine's morning!  This year Maddy read her card all by herself! Mikayla was just happy hers had Tinkerbell on it.  :)

This year's surprises are new Ariel Bath Mermaids, bubble bath, new tooth brushes and some Hershey's Kisses.  I always try to buy the girls practical treats, which they don't seem to mind.  I don't spend much either,  I get the treat bags & balloons from the Dollar Store which saves a lot!

After we gave the girls their treats and ate a quick breakfast we hit the road for Busch Gardens.  It was another chilly day in Florida so we bundled up!

Since we were just at BG a few weeks ago it was fun doing some different things that we didn't get to do during our last visit.  We rode the Skyride which gave us an awesome view of the park!

We also saw the Pirates 4-D movie in the Timbuktu Theatre.

The girls and I rode the Carousel while Daddy rode the Phoenix.

We also saw the new orangutan habitat in Jungala!  Orangutan Overlook is very cool.  We watched this fella span these ropes from one tower 3 stories up to another tower 50 feet away!  He was the most entertaining animal we saw all day!

Also in Jungala is the new attraction Treetop Trails.  This whole structure is a 3 story maze of rope bridges, tunnels and tubes.  It's an amazing work out let me tell you!  All four of us were exhausted after THIS adventure!

All in all it was a great day.  The park was a bit busy but we still had fun.  The only downfall of the day was that we were so tired when we got home.  Mike & I had planned to grill steaks for Vday dinner but ended up eating leftover pulled pork that I made Saturday night - which still delicious but much much easier.  Thankfully, Maddy was off of school Monday and Mike's schedule was flexible so we had plenty of time recuperate from BG and make our Valentine's family dinner last night.  It was nice celebrating Valentines' Day over a 3-day weekend and having this extra quality time to spend together as a family.

Aww, what nice treats, balloons and V-day gifts. We haven't been to Busch Gardens is a few years, I always love going there. We ended up grilling steaks, I make the best grilled steaks :) Sounds like a good fun family time!
