Sunday was an absolutely gorgeous day! Too gorgeous to stay indoors! So after breakfast Mike & I got the girls dressed to visit Sarasota's Bayfront Park.
Bayfront Park is a peninsula. There's a path at starts on the inside by the Marina and wraps all the way around to the other side along Sarasota Bay. Here's the girls posing under some banyan trees along the path.
This is the tip of Bayfront Park where the boats leave the Marina and enter Sarasota Bay.
You can see the newly rebuilt John Ringling Causeway in the distance that takes you to Bird Key, St. Armands Key, Lido Key and Longboat Key.
Here's the girls in front of the Dolphin Statue, you can see the city of Sarasota and Marina Jack's Restaurant in the background. Obviously it was a sunny day! Maddy borrowed my shades so I could take this picture!

Bayfront Park has a Children's Fountain as well as the playground. The girls & I have visited these fountains dozens of times over the years, in fact we had Madelyn's 4th Birthday Party here! This place is overrun with kids during summer break!

Bayfront Park attracts joggers, dog walkers, bikers, picnicers, fishermen; locals and tourists of all ages. There are also jet ski rentals, boat rentals, fishing charters and plenty of sunset cruises to take. There is truly something for everyone!
One of my favorite sights to see by the marina is this statue "Unconditional Surrender", a statue that was first brought to Sarasota in 2005 during the Season of Sculpture #3. It was loved by so many locals and tourists that it has returned to the Sarasota Bayfront for Season of Sculpture's Interlude 2007-2008. Mike & I were tempted to grab a bite at O'Leary's but we decided to go to Pop's Sunset Grill in Nokomis instead. Pop's is a waterside restaurant that we have been going to since we moved to Florida 14 years ago.
Nothing beats eating outside on a sunny, breeze day while a seagull stalks your food!

Oh, you got lots of pictures! Nice job. We do go there often. It's nice that we can bring our dog with us too. Maranda was too old by the time they put in the play ground. I love it there, thanks for sharing your photos too.
Last Saturday we went to the North Jetty's and walked out to the gulf and right around the jetty were 2 manatees. Of course my camera battery was dead :(
