This summer we were extremely surprised & excited to find out that my Dad & StepMom were in the market to buy a home in Florida. Memorial Day weekend they blew into town, met up with a real estate agent and put an offer in on a house right in our neighborhood! The bid was accepted, the house passed it's inspections and a few weeks later it was theirs!
Now, everyone knows Maddy, Mikayla & I all celebrated birthdays this Summer but with all the hustle & bustle of making the house a home, we postponed the Copp Family birthday celebrations until everyone was together and the house was ready for entertaining. The last weekend before My Dad & Step Family were heading back to Atlanta, they spoiled us rotten. Karen's brother-in-law Steve & her sister Elaine grilled a feast fit for kings; steaks, cajun shrimp & sausage, they made loaded baked potatoes, asparagus & a salad too. Everything was delicious, especially because I didn't have to cook any of it!
The whole gang enjoyed a hot summer night on the pool deck!

This is my present! My very own Keurig! It brews a perfect cup of coffee for Mike & I every morning! I love it! I'll never buy a can of Folgers again!
Another round of 'Happy Birthday' for my girls & me, but seriously this was the LAST time until our birthdays next year!
cookie cake & Karen's famous strawberry shortcake! Mmmmm Mmmmm
Me & Kayla after a soak in the hot tub!
Chillin' by the pool the next day.

It was great being able to spend so much time with my Dad, Karen, Kyle & Kayla this summer. As well as Karen's Mom Jean, her sister Elaine & bro-in-law Steve. They've been back in Georgia for a week already. We miss them a lot but I'm sure these next couple months will just fly by until they're here to visit again.

That is so cool! I wish I could get my parents to move down here. We've been here 20 years and still no luck course none of my sisters have moved down here either.
Happy birthday to all three of you!! That laptop looks bigger than Makayla! I love your coffee maker. I always make mine one cup at a time, and I use the good coffee too. I fugure if I am having one cup it's going to be good. The only bad part is it's hard to drink anyone else's coffee.
Great photos!
I'll bet Mike had no complaints about that last photo. Just sayin'!
Great times!
LoL Mike! Yeah, Kayla a walking talking reminder of what I'll be dealing with in another 6 or 7 years!
Oh yeah, just you two wait! Those two girls are going to be quite the two beauties also. It is definitely? a challenge dealing w/16 and 14 year olds at same time. Your turn is coming Mel and Mike. Love to you all K
Wow, I can't believe you guys got such amazing gifts from your family! Maddy's laptop is nicer than ours! :o) I'm glad you're spending so much time with family this summer. Looking forward to seeing your Chicago pics!!!
What gives, Mel?! No blog posts lately! And you have so much to blog about with the girls to school & your trip to Chicago! I'm going to have to smack you around when I see you tomorrow! Can't wait to see you guys!!
