My Maddy is growing up so fast... this year she performed in her 4th dance recital!
The end of this dance season also ended with Ms. Fran's teaching days. She owned and taught at her studio for 30+ years in my hometown of Joliet Il. Coincidentally she retired here in my new hometown Venice. Once a dancer always a dancer, this passionate woman could not stop teaching her love of dance to young students. It was a joy having Fran in our lives. She is so warm, patient and very talented. We will miss her very much but we wish her all the best!
Maddy's best bud Tayler takes dance too, although she and Maddy take different classes they have a ball hanging out backstage for the recital each year. Mikayla also enjoys her time backstage with us while I'm volunteering. She can't wait to start lessons too!
This year for Ms. Fran's farewell she taught Maddy's class two dances for the recital. Maddy danced a Spanish ballet and a tap dance to Boogie Woogie Shoes. This was Maddy's first year experiencing 'costume changes' and she managed it beautifully!
It was another great year, but in a way the end of an era. This Fall Maddy will have a new teacher and Mikayla will be joining ranks!
