Summer Nights

During the Summer we try to avoid our local theme parks.  With heat indices in the 100s it can be extremely uncomfortable.  We had heard good things about the Summer Nights variety show at Busch Gardens so we decided to grin & bare it for a late afternoon trip up a few weeks ago...  one of the beauties of our annual passes we can go whenever we want for as long as we want!

Busch Gardens has a new roller coaster and a new resident!  A cheetah!  He came to the park when he was only 4 weeks old, he's very comfortable in his new habitat. We were thrilled that he was in a frisky mood while we were there!

Despite the heat, most of the animals were very active! Especially the hippos!

The flamingos...

and the elephants!

To celebrate Summer Nights there were djs throughout the park playing popular tunes & giving out beads. The dj by TreeTop Trails had a bunch of hula hoops... Maddy is a superstar with a hula hoop!

I love this picture I got of one of the tigers, he had a nice cool spot in the shade with plenty of water to drink.

Last year at Disney we bought one their $17 misting fans, for that price you better believe I remembered to bring it to BG! It sure came in handy!

As it got dark, we made our way over to Gwazi Park for the Summer Nights show.  Elmo was there to entertain the kids until it started!

Once the show got started, we were impressed by pop singers, dancers, trick hula hoopers, acrobats, jump ropers, jugglers and some great pyro technics!  It reminded us of some of the acts we've seen on America's Got Talent.  It was an energetic show and definitely worth the trip!

After the show we made a bee line to the gate!  Summer Nights was a lot of fun!
